The former bookkeeper for the Laborers Local 1197 in McLeansboro has entered a guilty plea to charges she embezzled more than $25,000 from the organization. Carolyn Hall, 53 of McLeansboro entered a guilty plea Friday to charges of embezzlement and theft from the union hall. The thefts happened from about July of 2012 and continued through about February, 2014. Hall remains free on a recognizance bond pending the December 1 sentencing date.

A Fairfield man was involved in a traffic accident early Friday morning that injured a West Frankfort woman. According to the Illinois State Police 41 year old Jason Cooper of Fairfield was headed south on I 57 when he was forced by a merging vehicle into a Dodge Durango driven by Samantha Mendenhall of West Frankfort. Mendenhall was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, no one else was injured.
FNB has named John Reynolds as Financial Advisor to spearhead the FNB Asset Management Division. Reynolds, a Fairfield native, received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Evansville. Reynolds office will be in the FNB Fairfield location but he will also be available by appointment at the Wayne City and Grayville Branches.
The Cisne reunion is in full swing today starting with a community breakfast at 7am. The one mile fun run is at 7:30 and the Thunder Road 5K run-walk will begin at 8. The Clay County Cruisers Car show registration is from 9 to noon, and there will be a pedal pull at noon. The Cisne Reunion parade will be at 2:30, Backseat driving at 3:30 and the Duke boys will perform at 6pm.
Effective Monday Enterprise road will be closed 4 miles north of Fairfield so a bridge can be replaced over Martin Creek. Motorists who use Enterprise road should plan on taking an alternate route.
