99-year-old Glen Burton “Burt” Bates of Fairfield died at 9:13pm Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Lavender Ridge in Mt. Vernon, IL. Burt farmed until the late 1960s and retired from Wayne County Supervisor of Assessments in Fairfield in 1986. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He is survived by on son Rex (Linn) Bates of Loveland, CO; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Glen Burton “Burt” Bates will be at 10am Saturday Sept. 5, at the Hosselton funeral home in Cisne. Burial will be in the Wells Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Friday at the Hosselton funeral home, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer Assoc. or CASA of Larimer County in Ft. Collins, CO and will be accepted at the funeral home.
