William “Bill” Hindahl

hindahl85-year-old McLeansboro resident, William “Bill” Hindahl died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he had been owner of the Ben Franklin Store in McLeansboro. He had served in the McLeansboro Kiwanis Club, McCoy Library Board, McLeansboro Golf Course Board, Hamilton Memorial Hospital Board, High Hopes Investment Club, Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce and the First McLeansboro Swimming Pool Board.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Darlyne Ann (Manning) Hindahl; daughters, Cathy Webb and husband Melvin of Dahlgren and Pat Connaway and husband Larry of Collinsville; grandchildren David Webb and wife Stacy of Dahlgren, Emily York (deceased) and husband D.J. of Troy, IL, Dana Britton and husband Matt of Bloomfield, IN and Natalie Carlson an d husband Cody of Troy, IL; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Dacey, Trinity, Madeline, Andrew, Haley, Hannah, Jonathan, Eli and Benjamin.

Funeral services for William “Bill” Hindahl will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the Oddfellows Cemetery at McLeansboro.

Visitation will be 6 – 8 Friday evening, Sept. 11 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon, IL and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
