George W. Luthe

George LutheGeorge W. Luthe, 60, of Bloomington died at 8:02 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his residence. He worked for the last 15 years in the insurance business where he most recently started his own insurance re-inspection business. He received his Associate Degree in Agriculture Mechanics from Wabash Valley Jr. College and his Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Business Economics from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. After college he worked in seed production, including agriculture training in the Ukraine. He made numerous trips to the Dominican Republic and Niagara through his church.

Surviving are his wife, Julie Luthe of Bloomington; a daughter, Lacey (Michael) Dieser of Oswego; a son, Jon (Lindsay) Luthe of Downs; siblings, Roberta Brown of Indianapolis, IN, James (Sue) Luthe of Lawrenceville, Mike (Connie) Luthe of West Salem, Margaret Jane (Ken) Bringa of Waukesha, WI, and Robbin (Gary) Eckel of Noble; he was a doting grandfather to his four grandchildren, Jackson and MacKenzie Dieser, Avery Moody and Jens Luthe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service for George Luthe will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at College Park Christian Church in Normal. An additional Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Little Wabash United Methodist Church in West Salem.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at Little Wabash Cemetery in West Salem.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital or Barne Jewish Hospital.

The Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
