Cletus Zumbahlen

80-year-old Dieterich resident, Cletus Francis Zumbahlen died at 9:05 AM – Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home.

A veteran of the UJ.S. Army, he was a lifelong farmer, a member of the Dieterich American Legion Post #628, Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #665 and a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau.

Cletus is survived by his wife of 57 years – Marilyn Zumbahlen of Dieterich, Illinois. 7 children Steven (Linda) Zumbahlen, Brenda (Wayne) Pruemer, Michelle (Keith) Kuhl and Kent (Cindy) Zumbahlen all of Dieterich, Illinois; Julie (Gary) Flach of Montrose, Illinois; Sandra (Matthew) Mitchell of Newton, Illinois and Stephanie (Dan) Shadle, of Dieterich, Illinois. 23 Grandchildren – 8 Great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws – Marilyn Zumbahlen, Theresa Zumbahlen, and Sandra Zumbahlen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Monday, October 26, 2015 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek rural Dieterich, Illinois with burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois with full military rites by the Dieterich American Legion Post #628.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM – Sunday, October 25, 2015 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and 1 hour before the mass. In loving memory of Cletus, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.
