Mr. George Burkett Burgess, 82, of Xenia, died at 2:15 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Zenith, and was a farmer and retired employee of Knapp Oil Company for 41 years.
George is survived by his wife, Shirley (McBride) Burgess of Xenia, daughter, Connie Bradham of Austin, Texas, son, Randy Burgess of Xenia, grandsons Jeff Klein-Bradham and Michael Bradham of Austin, Texas, great grandchildren Jacob Klein-Bradham and Irie Bradham, and by two nephews and two nieces
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Zenith, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015, at Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois. Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to Brush Creek Church.
