93-year-old former Rochelle, IL resident, Gilbert Lowe of Mount Morris, IL died Monday February 1, 2016 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Morris, IL. A native of Wayne County, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, serving in Normandy and Northern France. He was a past commander of the Floyd J. Tilton VFW Post in Rochelle, IL, serving from 1967 – 1968.
Survivors include sisters: Leila Ann (Elmer) White, Diamond, MO; Mary Lowe, Mt. Morris, IL; brother-in-law: Herman Hood, Naples, FL; sisters-in-law: Helen Gaston, Bogard, MO, Judy Ehrhart and Lea Neff both of Wayne City, IL; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Steve Armbruster, Mt. Morris, IL; Jerry (Ann) Tannahill, Cisne, IL, and Larry (Ellen) Miller and Family, Oregon, IL.
Funeral services for Gilbert Lowe will be 11 a.m. Friday February 5, 2016 at the Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, IL with burial in Flagg Center Cemetery in Flagg Center, IL.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday February 5 at the Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, IL.
