Former Fairfield resident, JoAnn (Link) Johnson died on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Naples, Florida. JoAnn was born January 5, 1923 in Paris Illinois. JoAnn married Louis Francis Johnson on April 5, 1945. Louis and JoAnn settled in Fairfield, Illinois where Louis, with the support of JoAnn, established a successful optometric practice.
JoAnn was very active in the community with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), member and one time delegate of the Republican Party, and, cafeteria/playground assistant with the Fairfield Public Schools.
Louis and JoAnn moved to Naples, Florida in 1994 and established a wide network of friends. They attended Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church. JoAnn and Louis were married for 63 years.
Survivors include a sister Patricia Anker of New York, NY; son Michael L. Johnson and his wife Lisa of Lawrence, KS; son Mark F. Johnson of Tena, Ecuador; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
