Elizabeth Ellen Boewe, West Salem

Boewe, Elizabeth OBIT Pic 001Elizabeth Ellen Boewe, 80, of West Salem died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Oakview Heights in Mt. Carmel.  She was a graduate of the Lockyear Business College. She worked as secretary to the Vice-President of Champion Laboratories in the 1960’s and 1970’s. She was a member of the Moravian Church, and served as church secretary following her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters: Michele (Danny) Iverson of Ellery, Illinois and Dawn Deshotel of DeRidder, Louisiana; three sons: Darby (Tanya) Boewe, Mike Boewe, and Shawn Boewe, all of West Salem, Illinois; one step-son, Larry (Ginger) Boewe of West Salem, Illinois; two step-daughters: Kay (Tom) Moore of West Salem, Illinois and Rose (Don) Fielden of Fairfield, Illinois; one sister, Linda (Gene) Wise of Decatur, Illinois; one brother, John (Pam) Ridens of Fort Branch, Indiana; 32 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Bill Hasewinkle. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one grandson, Zef Hanson; one sister, Betty Green; and an infant brother, Michael Wayne Ridens.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Ellen Boewe will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at the Moravian Church in West Salem with burial in the Moravian Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the Moravian Church in West Salem.  Friends and family are encouraged to dress casually due to the extreme weather.

Memorials may be made to the West Salem Moravian Church or Oakview Heights in Mt. Carmel and will be accepted at either the church or the Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
