Jack Monroe, Barnhill

monroe83-year-old Barnhill resident, Jack Monroe died at 1:28 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  He had owned and operated Fairfield Upholstery Shop for several years. Later, he served two terms as Big Mound Township Road Commissioner. He was a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge #206 and the Ainad Shrine Temple.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris Monroe of Barnhill; a daughter, Jackie and husband Tim Schoenborn of Fairfield; two grandsons, Adam and wife Jill Schoenborn of Marion, IL and Joel and wife Nicole Schoenborn of Fairfield; three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Emmalyn and Mason.

According to Jack’s wishes, his body is to be cremated with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29 at Koontz Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
