Mary Patricia Brunell, 82 of Fairfield died at 11:33 PM, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at her home. She graduated from the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania in 1955 and worked as an RN at the school for 9 years after graduating. From there she moved to Chapel Hill and worked at the University of North Carolina Hospital. She married Frank Brunell on July 8, 1966 at St. Carthage in Philadelphia. She and Frank eventually settled in Fairfield where they lived for many years.
Survivors include one nephew and 4 nieces.
She was cremated and a funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 10:30 AM at the St. Edward Catholic Church, with a luncheon after mass that everyone is welcome to attend. Her ashes will be entombed at Maple Hill Cemetery.
