81 year-old Kenneth Edward “Ed” Stokes of Crossville, died Saturday, January 21, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He was a member of the Crossville United Methodist Church, and worked as a pumper in the oilfields around White County.
Survivors include cousins Thelma Jo (Duane) White, Harvalee (Byron) Taylor, Richard (Lynn) Carter, Paulette Smith, Sam B. (Pat) Carter, Brad (Judy) Carter, Royce (Becky) Carter, Gary (Terri) Carter, R. Larry (Ann) Roberts, Donna (Larry) Bell, Judy (Melvin) Cowling, William E. (Jeananne) Samuelson, Elaine (Jim) Monihan, Sharon Songer, Fred Sons, and Carol Sons.
Visitation and funeral services are set for Wednesday, January 25, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Visitation is at 9 a.m. and funeral is at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Stokes Cemetery near Crossville.
Memorials may be made to the Crossville United Methodist Church. The Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi is in charge of the arrangements.
