Ronald L. “Toad” Breeze – Wayne City

breezeRonald L. “Toad” Breeze, 95, of Wayne City, Illinois passed away at 9:40 A.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon, Illinois.  A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Breeze worked for many years as a welder for Illinois Central Railroad. After he retired from the railroad, he worked construction on Interstate Highway 57.

Ronald first married Geraldine Lockeby on November 8, 1941. Together, they had two daughters, Janet (Breeze) Lane of Bluford, Illinois and Charlotte Breeze of Olney, Illinois. He later married Vivian (Tidball) Breeze on December 16, 1962 who had two daughters that he raised as his own, Donna Weaver of Fairfield, Illinois and Sandy King of Mount Vernon, Illinois. In addition to his daughters, Ronald is survived by 17 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren and two more expected this spring; sisters, Betty Albright of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Joyce Porter of Bluford, Illinois; special friend, Bonnadean Reimer; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ronald L. “Toad” Breeze will be 1 p.m. Sunday, February 5 at the Archie Sanders Chapel at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois with burial in Thomason Cemetery.  Members of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 -8 Saturday, February 4 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans Wayne City Chapter and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon.
