Laura Jane Biggerstaff obit photo79 year-old McLeansboro resident, Laura Jane Biggerstaff, died at 4:34 p.m. Friday, February 3, at her residence. She was the owner/operator of K & LJ Restaurant in McLeansboro. Laura was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and was a member of the American Legion Post 106 Ladies Auxiliary in McLeansboro.

Survivors include her five sons: Steve (Sally) McMahon of Freeport, Illinois, Gary (Mary) McMahon of McLeansboro, Donnie (Denise) McMahon of Mt. Vernon, IL, John (Irene) Biggerstaff of McLeansboro, and Perry (Melissa) Biggerstaff of Bloomington, Illinois. A daughter: Carolyn (David) Babb of Pontiac, IL; Three brothers-in-law: Dale (Brenda) Biggerstaff of McLeansboro, Lowell (Linda) Biggerstaff of McLeansboro, and Johnny (Sharon) Biggerstaff of Woodlawn. Five sisters-in-law: Mary Ruth Parr of McLeansboro, Florene (Russ) Dutton of Mt. Vernon, IL, Alice McKinney of Sandwich, IL, Nona Joann (Darrel) Beckham of Belle Rive, and Wanda (Morris) Sledge of Mt. Vernon, IL. 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Laura Jane Biggerstaff will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 6, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Reverend Robert Sefried and Reverend Douglas Bowers officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 5 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be at the Old Springer Cemetery in Blairsville.
