Henry P. Burnett, 78, of Griffin, IN, died on March 18, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Mr. Burnett retired as a dredge operator from Mulzer Crushed Stone. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Survivors include a son, Donnie (Beth) Travelstead, of New Harmony, IN; daughters, Ruth Miley of Wadesville, IN and Rachel (David) Blazier of Carmi, IL; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Homer (Shirley) Burnett; sister, Leatha (“Wimpy”) Ninness, and sister-in-law, Wava Burnett. He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Burnett, Guy Charles Burnett, and Christopher Burnett; and sisters, Mary Felty, Ruby Large, Pauline Bell, Jenny Holland, and Verna Faye Burnett.
Funeral services for Henry P. Burnett will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at t he Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN. with burial in the Marshall Ferry Cemetery at Rising Sun – Dogtown.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Ind.
Military rites will be conducted by the Carmi American Legion and VFW Posts.
