86-year-old Fairfield resident, Jeff “Jake” Eckelberry died at 3:32 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at Mt. Vernon Health Care in Mt. Vernon, Ill. A U.S. Army Veteran, he had been a maintenance worker at several places in Indianapolis.
Survivors include l sister, Sarah and husband Charles Allen of Palmyra, Indiana.
Graveside services for Jake Eckelberry will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 18 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 176 and VFW Post 3545.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends should go directly to the cemetery.
Nale’s Funeral Home of Fairfield is in charge of all the arrangements.
