Headlines for Saturday December 23, 2017

Because of a printing error in the Albion paper, we are informing you of these Christmas eve services Sunday. The West Village Christian Church, north of Albion will have Sunday School at 9:30 and worship service at 10:30 and then a candle light service at 5:30pm on Sunday. The Prairie Christian Church will have a special service at 9pm Sunday.

Area police would like to remind people to lock their cars, especially when you are leaving items in your car. There has been a rash of car burglaries around the area and many thefts could have been deterred by simply locking your car when you exit it as well as not leaving valuables in cars, especially overnight.

For 28 years, a Christmas Dinner for the low income and lonely of Wayne County will again be held on Christmas Day at the Kon-Tiki in Fairfield. If you don’t have access to a hot meal, or will be spending Christmas alone, they hope you can spend Christmas with them. Dinner will include baked ham with dressing and gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, hot rolls, pumpkin pie with whipped topping and drinks. Serving will be from 11:30am to 1:00pm. All ages are welcome. There is no need to dress up and there will be no charge.

Deliveries will be available for those unable to visit the Kon-Tiki. For delivery call 618-842-4522 or 618-599-8875 on Christmas Eve after 3:00pm and before noon on Christmas day to place an order. Deliveries will only be made within Fairfield city limits. If you have friends and neighbors in the outlying areas and would like to pickup and deliver to them, please let them know in advance so they can have the dinners ready for pickup.
