Edna Ruth Bowers – McLeansboro

94-year-old McLeansboro resident, Edna Ruth Bowers died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, April 23 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  A homemaker, she had been a member of the Middle Creek Missionary Baptist Church until its time of closing.

Survivors include three daughters; Emma Jean Bowers of Dahlgren, Gloria Jean Potts and husband Joe of South Elgin, IL and Doris Anny May and husband Dennis of Sandwich, IL; two sisters, Imogene Lemke of Chester, IL and Mary Miller of McLeansboro; grandchildren; Michael Harris, Jr. and wife Beth of Vienna, IL, Kelly Hagenson and husband Gene of Sheridan, IL, Tonya Stallings and husband Troy of Sandwich, IL, Davi Lynn Collins and husband John of Mt. Vernon, IL, Melvin Lee Miller, Jr. and wife Connie of Belle Rive, IL and Lisa Leann Miller of Elgin, IL; 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, Corky the cat and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Edna Ruth Bowers will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26 at Richardson Hill Cemetery at Dahlgren.  There will be no visitation. Those attending the service should go directly to the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, which is in charge of all of the arrangements.
