Fred J. Berger – Albion

90-year-old Albion resident, Fred J. Berger died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at Rest Haven Manor in Albion.  He retired from Prairie Farms Dairy in Olney after 51 years of service.  A U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, he was a member of the Bone Gap Christian Church and the Albion VFW Post 8222.

Survivors include two sons, Don and wife Diana Jo Berger of Albion and Kevin and wife Aline Berger of Albion; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Berger of Albion; two sisters, Velma Prosser of Noble and Betty and husband Fred Prosser of Noble; grandchildren, Brett and wife Shari Berger of Albion, Tony Berger of Grayville, Kelley and husband Jason Biggs of Albion, Dana and husband Scott Atteberry of Albion, Deeann Berger of Evansville, IN, Erin and husband Tim Macsaveny of Morogoro, Tanzania, Kathy and husband Troy Thornburg of Matthews, NC; great-grandchildren, Nichole Dwyer, Kayleigh and husband Jeremy Witter, Eli Berger, Ty and Maia Atteberry, Campbell and Parker Biggs, Rose, Everett, Julian and Lucy Macsaveny, Milo and Eden Thornburg and one great-great-grandson, Tate Witter.

Funeral services for Fred J. Berger will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1 at the Albion First Christian Church with burial at Crest Haven Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 Monday evening, April 30 at the Albion First Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Pioneer Bible Translators and will be accepted at the church or at Nale’s Funeral Home, which is in charge of all of the arrangements.
