Katherine B. “Kay” Baker – Fairfield

Katherine B. “Kay” Baker, 82, of Fairfield, died at 9:30pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Aperion Care in Fairfield.  She had been a bookkeeper in her husband, Carson Baker’s, income tax business for many years. She was also the former Illinois State President of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.

Survivors include one son Carson (Kelli) Baker II of Fairfield, one daughter Susan (Doug) Erdmann of Rossville, Indiana, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one sister Phyllis (Tom) Duncan of Peoria, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

As per Kay’s request, her body has been cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Barney’s Prairie Christian Church of Friendsville and will be accepted at the graveside or at the Johnson and Vaughan Funeral Home in Fairfield which is in charge of arrangements.
