Fairfield Memorial Hospital is offering First Aid/CPR Certification to the public free of charge. The class will be held on June 12th from 8:00am to Noon in the FMH Education Annex Building (former Union Hall) located on 10th Street. For more information or to preregister call (618) 847-8367. Hamilton/Wayne County Relay For Life will hold their “Relaying Through The Decades” Relay Event on Saturday, June 16, at the Hamilton County Senior High School. Food booths open at 11 a.m. Opening Ceremony begins at 1 p.m., followed by the Survivors Lap. The event includes entertainment, food booths, activities for kids, and tricky tray raffles. The Luminaria Ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. Join us anytime throughout the day and evening.
The next Hope Center “Feed the Family” will be June 16th starting at around 9am. They will be passing out food, clothes, misc. items and diapers. The Hope Center is located at 23 West Cherry in Albion. Please bring a tote, box or bag to carry your items home with you. The Christian Motorcycle Association will be giving the message of hope. Aperion Care in Fairfield and the Wayne County Misfits Car Club will be sponsoring a Father’s Day Classic Car show on Saturday June 16th. Cars will be on display from 1pm – 3pm on the front parking lot of Fairfield Memorial Hospital. There will also be hot dogs, popcorn and root beer floats available. Everyone is welcome.
According to The Alzheimer’s Association, June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. The goal is to increase public awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, available resources and how people can get involved to support the cause. People are asked to attend education programs, support groups or fundraising events understanding the benefits of early diagnosis and clinical research and knowing where to find support and resources
