More fallout from the escape of prisoners from the White County Jail as a 28-year-old Grayville woman has admitted helping one of the men by coordinating a rendezvous with Felon Justin Bray and providing a vehicle. Cary Schmittler will serve four years  for a class 3 felony.

Good business news for Fairfield!  The owner of La Fuente Mexican Restaurant says he will be adding 750 square feet to the south of his current facility located in front of the Fairfield Wal-Mart. Owner Daniel Zaragoza says the additional room will allow for a bar and 32 new seats. That work should be complete later this month. Extra help will be hired. The space was previously occupied by “Help at Home.”

The latest on the new O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store on the west side of Fairfield…the construction company anticipates turning over the store to the company around August 1st…and a possible opening by the end of August.

At tonight’s Fairfield City Council meeting, the topic dominating discussion will be the use of Tax Increment Financing, or TIF funds. Mayor Brent Maguire says the TIF discussion will lead to a vote later this month on three proposals.

And drag racing is on the schedule for tonight’s grandstand entertainment at the Wayne County Fair. Today is filled with shows at the fairgrounds including the 4-H Sheep and Goat Shows later this afternoon. Wednesday night is the C-Bar rodeo.

River stages on 7-10-18 at 10 a.m.:  Little Wabash, east of Fairfield is 5.63; Skillet Fork at Wayne City is 5.17.
