Robert Dwayne Clark, 79 of New Lenox, Illinois passed away on August 13, 2018 at his home. He was born on December 2, 1938 to Elmer and Ruth (Hood) Clark in Mill Shoals, IL. He graduated from Mills Prairie High School with the Class of 1956. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Caterpillar in Joliet after working 32 years. In 1966 he married Peggy Johnson and she survives.
Robert enjoyed all sports and coached Little League for 10 years. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan and later became a Chicago Bears fan.
Robert is survived by his wife, Peggy of New Lenox, IL , one brother, Richard (Patty) Clark of Mt. Vernon, IL, Brothers-in-Law, Sterling (Carolyn) Johnson, Jerry (Mary) Johnson, Bob (Leslie) Johnson, Kent (Janice) Johnson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Father-in-Law, Mother-in-Law, and one Brother-in-Law, Ray Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Joliet, Illinois.
