86-year-old Belle Rive resident, Betty Colleen Gammon died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, June 17 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked at various area hospitals and nursing homes and was the Plant Nurse at Continental Tire Company in Mt. Vernon until her retirement.
Survivors include four sons, Roger and Billy Gammon of Fairfield, Harold and Bradley Gammon of Belle Rive; five daughters, LaRita “Sherry” Rutherford and Danita Breaux of Mt. Vernon, Crystal Wagner of Nason, IL, Cynthia “Honey” Gammon of Bluford and Tina Gammon of Belle Rive; three sisters, Dorrie Pierce and Karen Carlton of Mt. Vernon and Pat Davis of Goreville, IL; a brother, Wayne Quinn of Las Vegas, NV; 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Betty Colleen Gammon will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20 at Olive Branch Cemetery in Wayne City.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 Wednesday evening, June 19 at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon which is in charge of all the arrangements.
