99-year-old former McLeansboro resident, Carroll James Erwin died at 12:36 p.m. Wednesday at his home in Marion, IL. He was employed by the former Texas Oil Company and retired after 36 years of service.
Survivors include his wife Mary Erwin of Marion; a daughter, Delores Bowers of Lake of Egypt, IL; a son, Jerry Erwin of Marion, IL; a sister, Betty Juanita Switzer Brown of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Carroll James Erwin will be 7 p.m. Friday, June 28 at the Creal Springs United Methodist Church in Creal Spring, IL.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. at the church. Then, a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Creal Springs or the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
