Fire heavily damaged a mobile home on North First Street in Fairfield Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters were called to 1007 North First Street shortly before 1 p.m. Police said the last known occupant of the home was Billy Smith.

Charleen Wood, 90, of Mount Carmel, died on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care. She was a kitchen aid at South School for many years, a homemaker.
