82-year-old Albion resident, Charles J. “Charlie” Bunting, died at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 and served for 3 years and 3 months. He later operated Emil Bunting and Sons until 1979, when the name was changed to Bunting Appliance and T.V. and operated it until his retirement in 2003. He was also a Cub Scout Master for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Bailey of Albion; and five sons, Fred of Williamsburg, VA, Rex of Browns, Troy of Bone Gap, and Donnie and Mark both of Albion; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Charles J. “Charlie” Bunting will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with full military rites.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
