89-year-old Fairfield resident, Charles N. Parsons died at 11 p.m. Monday, August 5 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. A U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, he served as an MP in Germany. He worked as an auto body repairman for Cleo Xanders, repairing and repainting cars for many years.
Survivors include daughters, Jane Parsons and Virginia and H.G. French, all of Fairfield; a sister, Ida Dickerson of Peoria, IL and two grandchildren.
The body is to be cremated with a memorial service set for 2 p.m. Monday, August 12 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in the Veterans Section of Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Monday, August 12 until the time of service at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the local DAV Chapter and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
