83-year-old former Broughton resident, Charlie Gray Griswold of Cave-in-Rock died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4 in Spring Hill, FL. He was a retired welder and cattle rancher. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Lona; a son, Charlie Gray Griswold, Jr. of Danville, AL; five daughters, Starlett Rose Gholson of Macedonia, Tammy Jene Thompson of Harrisburg, Delight Jane Griswold of Elizabethtown, Lea Raye Warren of Broughton and Kandy Kaye Willis of Hernando, FL; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services for Charlie Gray Griswold will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the Barker Cemetery near Broughton with military rites provided by the McLeansboro American Legion Post 106 and the U.S. Army Reserve Unit of Marion, IL.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 8 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro.
