89-year-old Carmi resident, Clarence William “Bill” Stocke, died Friday, May 17 at his home. He worked in the Illinois Oil Basin at various positions involving oil production and retired from Exxon-Mobil. He also enjoyed farming, welding and anything mechanical.
Surviving are his wife Jewel; two sons, Scott of Carmi and Steve of Enfield; one daughter, Shirley Williams of Carmi; one sister, Joann Corcoran of Carmi; six grandchildren, eight grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, his remains were cremated. A visitation and memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
