63-year-old Fairfield resident, Curtis Dickey Simpson died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Way-Fair in Fairfield. He and his father owned and operated E.L. Simpson and Son Plumbing in Fairfield for 34 years. A 1968 graduate of Fairfield Community High School, he graduated from SIU Carbondale in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Botany. He was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church and served as president of the Fairfield Rotary Club from 1985-1986 and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Survivors include his wife Doris; daughters, Laura of Fairfield and Sarah of Davenport, FL and foreign exchange student Carmela (Sunglao) Reed of California.
Services for Curtis Dickey Simpson will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Friday evening, Sept. 27 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the family to help cover funeral expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
