Dane 388-year-old McLeansboro resident, Dane Nation died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Nature Trail Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Vernon.  A U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, he served on the USS Tripoli. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Nation of McLeansboro; two sons, Mike Nation of McLeansboro and Mark Nation of Harrisonburg, VA; one step-daughter, Sherry Douthett and husband Jeff of McLeansboro; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Dane Nation will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the IOOF Cemetery at McLeansboro with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro and a Military Honors Team from Marion, IL.

Visitation will be 6 – 8 Wednesday evening, May 14 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
