58-year-old former Fairfield resident, Darrell Gene “Bo” Sterling of East Prairie, Missouri died Saturday April 6, 2013 at 12:55 p.m. at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. He served as a first mate for the Ingram Barge Company before ill health forced him to retire. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include three sons, Travis Gene Sterling of Festus, MO, Tre Alexander Sterling and Jacob William Rodgers both of Fairfield; two daughters, Jessica Elizabeth Sterling and Taylor Alexis Sterling both of Fairfield; eight brothers, Jimmy, David, Steve, Curtis, Kenny and Danny Sterling all of East Prairie, Michael Sterling of Charleston and Gary Sterling of Sikeston; three sisters, Patricia Sterling of East Prairie, Clydena Hudgens of Farmington, Missouri and Melissa Sterling of Alpharetta, Georgia; and one grandson, Brantley James Thomason of Fairfield.
Graveside services for Darrell Gene “Bo” Sterling will be held at Dogwood Cemetery on Saturday April 13 at 1 p.m. with Full Military Honors conducted by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program. The Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie MO is in charge of all the arrangements.
