89-year-old Albion resident, Duane Stennett, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday, November 15 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the United States Air Force in India and China until the war’s end. He provided automotive repair for the community at Stennett’s Garage for 63 years having been trained in aeronautical repair in the Air Force and subsequent training. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and American Legion both of Albion.
Surviving are his wife Berniece of Albion; two daughters, Linda Stennett-Brewer of Decatur, IL and Susan Shaberts of Simpsonville, SC; one son, Stanton Kent Stennett of Tampa, FL; one brother, Bernard of Albion; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Duane Stennett will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 18 at the 1st Baptist Church in Albion. Burial will be in Samaria Cemetery at Albion, with military rites at the graveside.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday, November 18 until the time of service at the church.
Ingram Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of the arrangements.
