90-year-old former Wayne County resident Edward Jackson died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, July 26 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. A veteran of WW II, he was a retired Fairfield City Police Sergeant and later worked as a janitor at Mt. Zion High School.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Metheney of Gilbert, AZ and Sheila Rigg of Macon, IL; a sister, Elaine Brown of Fairfield; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Edward Jackson will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday, July 30 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Fairfield First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
