Legendary 77-year-old Grayville area resident, Elmer Eugene “Wolfie” Wolf, died Friday, June 14 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville, IN. He was known for his love of music, NASCAR, auto racing and fishing. He was a Korean War Amy Veteran and member of the VFW, American Legion and Moose Lodge.
Surviving are two sons, Jim of Henderson, KY and John of Grayville; one daughter, Jada Wolf Stark of Olney; four brothers, John “Butch” Wolf of Ina, IL, David of Smithton, IL, L.D. Wolf of Carmi, Joey of Grayville; one sister, Phyllis Blackford of Salem, IL; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 18 nieces and nephews; and his caretaker and friend Rita Hosman.
Funeral services for Elmer Eugene “Wolfie” Wolf will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 17 at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Burial with military rites will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Albion.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday, June 17 until the time of service at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
