87-year-old Fairfield resident, Emma Simpson McCarthy died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Way-Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield. She had been a New Hope School District bus driver; a DCFS Advocate and a farm wife.
Survivors include her husband, Don McCarthy; a daughter, Claudia Berg of Johnsonville; sons, Michael and John Simpson of Fairfield; a step-daughter, Sharon Seifert of Fairfield; a step-son, Randy McCarthy of Tacoma, WA; sisters, Pearl Patrick of Fairfield, Lena Martin of Decatur, IL and Nancy Englebright of Paris, IL; a brother, David Ivers of Jupiter, FL; 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Services for Emma Simpson McCarthy will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 at New Hope Church with burial in Koontz Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Monday evening, June 10 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope Church and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
