82-year-old Dahlgren resident, Evan L. Hart, died at 6:53 a.m. Tuesday, November 12 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was a railroad switchman, and worked for Rock Island Railroad. He also drove a school bus for Hamilton County schools, worked for Precision National in Mt. Vernon, IL, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife Norma of Dahlgren; four sons, Jack and Barry both of Dahlgren, and Terry and Jeff both of Mt. Vernon, IL; six grandsons and four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Kenny of McLeansboro; one sister, Verla Anderson of Normal, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Evan L. Hart will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 15 at the Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren. Burial will be in Crisel Cemetery near Dahlgren, with military rites provided by the American Legion Post #106 and Military Honors Team of Marion, IL.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 14 at the Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center, and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
