89-year-old Fairfield resident, Everett McConnell, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, February 28 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. He worked 38 years as a line clearance journeyman for Wayne White Electric before retiring in 1986, and was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church. He was also a Veteran in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years June of Fairfield; two sons, Dennis (Maxine) McConnell of The Woodlands, TX and David (Irma) McConnell of Effingham, IL; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Everett McConnell will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery north of Wayne City, with military rites by the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and Wayne Memorial Post #4535 VFW.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5 until the time of service at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to Oblong Children’s Christian Home, and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield.
