Fairfield City Police are searching for three suspects accused of stealing money Saturday from the Fairfield Super Wal-Mart and Kincaids.  The suspects used sleight of hand and distraction techniques to steal $150 from a cashier at Kincaids.  The same suspects are accused of distracting a cashier at the Wal-Mart, stealing $900 from a cash drawer.  The suspects were black males and were in a black Pontiac Grand-Am with Tennessee plates.

28-year-old Shawn D. Roberson of Elm Street in Fairfield was jailed Saturday afternoon after he allegedly battered his girlfriend, 26-year-old Kortney Smith.  Roberson has been jailed on a charge of domestic battery.

Rodney J.D. Lindner of N.E. Fourth Street in Fairfield reports that someone stole his X-Box game set and 20 games. The loss was put at $1,200.

The number of laborers killed in farm accidents in Illinois is falling. The number of fatalities in the past year is the lowest in 35 years. The number of farm fatalities was 12 in the past year – down 20 from the previous year.

The Fairfield Beautification Committee will be judging the October Yard of the Month on Tuesday, Oct. 1.  The October Yards will be judged on a fall theme. To nominate a yard, call 847-2921 no later than next Monday, Sept. 30.

The Wayne City Bean Days celebration kicks off this weekend with a 5-K run at 7:30 Saturday morning.  The annual Bean Days Parade will be at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
