40-year-old Shannon L. Woodrow of Springerton was arrested by White County authorities after she allegedly made a payment to Wayne-White Electric in the amount of $537.50 while employed as the Mill Shoals Township Clerk and without the consent of Mill Shoals Township.  White County Sheriff Doug Maier says cash in excess of $500 was also allegedly taken from the Mill Shoals Township for the purpose of being used as bond money, when the bond was never obtained.  Woodrow is being held in the White County Jail on $2500 cash bond.

Jefferson County Sheriff Roger Mulch reports the arrest of a Bonnie, IL suspect in connection with an incident Thursday afternoon in which police had went to check on the welfare of an elderly resident.  Police had been dispatched to a residence in Bonnie, IL, and upon entering, discovered the body of 84-year-old Rita E. Newell of Bonnie, IL.  A further investigation resulted in a search warrant being obtained and executed at the scene.  The investigation quickly expanded to a tri-state area involving several FBI offices and area police, which led to the arrest of 42-year-old Timothy S. Newell of Bonnie, IL.  Sheriff Mulch says Timothy S. Newell was taken into custody in Sweet Sprnigs, MO.  He faces charges of possession of a stolen or converted vehicle. and is being held in the Saline County, Missouri jail.  He’s expected to be transported back to Illinois next week.  An autopsy was performed on Rita E. Newell’s body Friday afternoon.  Sheriff Mulch says additional charges against Timothy S. Newell are pending.

Three suspects were arrested Friday in what is being called a “rolling meth lab” following a routine traffic stop by McLeansboro police.  The suspects were identified as 31-year-old Brandon D. Harris of Wayne City, 31-year-old Kristy R. Potts of Eldorado, Il and a 16-year-old juvenile.  All face preliminary charges of participation in meth manufacturing, possession of meth making chemicals, possession of meth and possession of drug manufacturing equipment.  Police said two suspected meth labs were discovered inside the vehicle.

33-year-old Tim H. Robinson of Shawneetown, IL was jailed on charges he stole a large collection of Lego building blocks from a home in Omaha, IL.  Robinson faces a class-3 felony charge of theft for allegedly stealing a collection of Lego blocks from Patrick Webb of Omaha, IL.  Gallatin County Sheriff Shannon Bradley said the theft was learned after Robinson tried to sell some of the stolen blocks on E-bay.  Robinson is being held under $20,000 bond in the White County Jail at Carmi.

54-year-old Wilbor W. Michels of Clay City was arrested for DUI late Thursday night after crashing his vehicle just south of Main Street in Clay City.  State police said Michels was southbound on Main Street just south of Mead Avenue when his vehicle left the roadway, causing him to overcorrect and hit a ditch before overturning.  Michels was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the wreckage.  He was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora and later to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
