Sizemore and Andre were on a night reconnaissance mission during the Vietnam War when their A-26A Invader crashed on July 8, 1969, in Xiangkhoang province, Laos.  The airmen’s remains were recovered in 2012 and returned the the United States for burial.

A ParkerCarmi woman who walked away from a community service detail last month in White County has been sentenced to three years in prison for escape. 36-year-old Stephanie L. Parker failed to return to jail after completing part of a community service project. She fled to Tennessee and was captured about two weeks ago.

17-year-old Lucas M. Kary of Fairfield has been jailed on charges of burglary and theft.  Kary is accused of breaking into his grandmother’s home where he allegedly stole a large quantity of jewelry.  The items were apparently pawned and have not been recovered.

The Fairfield 7th and 8th grade classes at Center Street School will be involved in an active shooter drill today.  Fairfield City Police and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department will participate in the drill.

Officials at Wabash Telephone have approved the retirement of 25% of their capital credits for 2001.  Capital Credits are margins that exceed the cost of doing business. The refunds will be mailed out this week.

A benefit dinner for Curt and Judy Wood of Fairfield will be held this Sunday at the CP Church in Fairfield.  Serving will be from 11 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. The cost is by donation.  Curt remains hospitalized in Indianapolis with a serious heart condition.

The Cisne FFA Horse Judging Team finished in first place at the Section 23 competition recently at the Wayne County Fairgrounds arena.  The Cisne Forestry Team took 4th place in Forestry Competition held at Sam Dale Lake.
