Two Wayne County teens were injured Tuesday night when the car they were in hit a rough patch of gravel on outer NW 7th St., overturned and caught fire. The car was driven by 19-year-old Cheyenne Bruce. She and her passenger, 19-year-old Lisa Hunsinger were hurt and taken to Fairfield Memorial Hospital following the 7 p.m. crash.

Flo Simpson, the Executive Director of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is leaving her post.  Flo says she has accepted a position with Travel Masters in Tyler, TX as a travel agent.  She and her family will be relocating to Texas next month. Her last day on the job in Fairfield will be June 22.

Forensic Patholigist Dr. John Heidingsfelder testified Tuesday at the murder-for-hire trial of 21-year-old Tyler R. McQueen of Mt. Carmel. McQueen is accused of accepting cash and a car to stab 78-year-old Robert V. Westall to death at his home in Lawrenceville on March 25 of last year. Dr. Heidingsfelder testified that Westall bled to death due to a large cut to the right side of his neck. Further evidence showed the victim sustained 32 stab wounds and suffered a broken nose.

Frontier Community College’s annual Family Literacy Fest is this Saturday from 9 until noon at the Workforce Development Center at the college. Local businesses donated prizes which will be given away in the morning. The grand prizes will be a bike for a boy and a girl.

RN Blair Heisner with Senior Life Solutions has been named Employee of the Month at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  She serves as an RN with Senior Life Solutions.
