Reindeer Racing Rules

Must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

The contest runs from Monday, November 23rd, through Friday, December 11th, 2009.

Winners can only play one time.

Three prizes will consist of gift certificates from participating Reindeer Race Sponsors.

Employees and all family members of Wayne County Broadcasting Co. are ineligible to participate.

Prize drawings will take place December 15th at 8:45am on WFIW-FM.

All decisions by WFIW Management are final!


Here's what to do during the Reindeer Race...

When you hear the
BUGLER,
call 618-842-3715 for your chance to
"Pick a Reindeer" who will win the race! 


The Bugler will sound three
times per day Monday through Friday-
November 23rd through December 11th.

2009 Reindeer Races Tip Sheet

 DANCER

 Not a strong finisher in the long races, good possibility to win a 7 or 8-furlong race, runs well on clear days-

 

VIXEN

 Does well in races of a mile or longer, saves her best for the stretch, runs well when snow is falling-

 

PRANCER

 Good choice to finish in the top 3 of 7, 8 or 9 furlongs, does well on slightly thawed tracks, can win down the stretch-

 

BLITZEN

 A good pick for races over a mile, runs hard in the snow, runs strong on a sloppy track-

 

CUPID

 Shoots like an arrow down the street, good pick on a fast track in long races of 1 1/8 mile more, bad pick on a snowy track-

 

DONNER

Runs well in the snow, length of race doesn't seem to matter, a good pick when visibility is poor-

 

COMET

Runs well in races when temperatures are mild, a good pick when winds are calm and no snow, capable of winning by a large margin-

 

DASHER 

Tends to fizzle out after a strong start, good pick in races of 9 furlongs to 1 1/4 mile, runs well in very cold temperatures-

 

RUDOLPH

Runs strong in a snow storm, can win by a nose in a short race of 7 or 8 furlongs, Rudolph is over rated-
