29-year-old Fairfield resident, Jonathan Lee died Sunday, July 28 at the Siteman Cancer Center, Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis following a 19 month battle with Cancer. A graduate of Fairfield Community High School and Southern Illinois University Carbondale, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice, leading to his employment with Lutheran Child and Family Services in Mount Vernon’s Southern Thirty Adolescent Center for the last 5 1/2 years. He was a member of the Freemasons as a chaplain with a Third Degree, the Ainad Shriners and the Fairfield Auxiliary Police. He was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Linda Lee of Fairfield; a brother, Brandon Lee and fiance’e Kari Legg; his grandparents, Walter and Bernadine Keyser of Fairfield and Nina York of Enfield; uncles and aunts Bill and Carole Ann Musgrave of Fairfield and Fred and Brenda White of Sumner; and cousins Jerrod Wood and Jenna Lovitt and Haylie Fisher and Barkley White.
Services for Jonathan Lee will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 Tuesday evening, July 30 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the local Freemasons for their charitable work or the Benevolent Fund of the First Christian Church in Fairfield and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
