34-year-old Enfield resident, Joshua Orlando Malone, died Thursday, July 25 at his home. He graduated from SIU-Carbondale and had recently graduated from Heavy Equipment Operator School in Dothen, AL. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1996-2000 earning the rank of Sergeant and had been deployed in the Middle East in the Helicopter Squadron, Search and Rescue. He was a member of the NRA and attended the Springerton Christian Church.
Surviving are his parents, Tommy and Linda (Marks) Malone of Enfield; one sister, Stacey A. Malone-Ray of San Francisco, CA; his fiancee’, Karen Turpin of Phoenix, AZ; and several cousins.
Funeral services for Joshua Orlando Malone will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 at the Springerton Christian Church. Military rites will be conducted by the Carmi American Legion and VFW immediately following services at the church.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 29 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield.
