89-year-old Fairfield resident, Kay Scott, died at 8 a.m. Monday, February 3 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She had been a bookkeeper for McCullough Electric for several years. After retirement, she served as president of the Humane Society and was a Red Cross Volunteer. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she was a veteran of the Women’s Army Air Corps during WW II, meeting her future husband at the Pentagon during that time.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Max Scott of Fairfield; a daughter, Patricia Korbis of Austin, TX; a son Mike Scott and wife Connie of Champaign; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Kay Scott will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in the Veterans Section of Maple Hill Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday, Feb. 7 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
