71-year-old Dahlgren resident, Larry O. “Tooter” Karcher, died Friday, June 7 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was an operator with the Hamilton County Highway Department. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge #2699, McLeansboro and the American Legion Post #106, McLeansboro and the Elks Lodge #1882. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Surviving are a son, Kelly of McLeansboro; one brother, Gary of Dahlgren; one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Larry O. “Tooter” Karcher will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Crouch Cemetery at Belle Prairie, with graveside military rites by the American Legion Post #106 McLeansboro and Military Honors Team of Marion, IL.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Sunday, June 9 until the time of service at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
