78-year-old Fairfield resident, Max L. Murphy died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  He had been a farmer, worked at Airtex Products and started Murphy Trucking, Inc. in 1976.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Murphy of Keenes; step-daughters, Kimberly Cash of Bluford and Cathy Maxey of Wisconsin; a step-son, Jeffrey Nordin of Beloit, Wisconsin; a brother, Larry Murphy;  sisters, Barbara Henson of Geff and Fran Fetherling of Fairfield; five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services for Max L. Murphy will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 1 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Buckey Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 Saturday evening, March 30 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
