Mr and Mrs Joshua Pope


Katie Ann Harvey and Joshua Thomas Pope were united in marriage May 25, 2013 at 4:00 in the afternoon at New Beginnings Church in Fairfield, IL.  The ceremony was officiated by the groom’s father Pastor Tom Pope.  The bride is the daughter of Pat and Judith Ann Harvey of Wayne City, IL and the granddaughter of Rosa Lee Harvey and the late Lloyd Harvey and the Late Clyde and Bernadine Hall of Wayne City.  The groom is the son of Tom and Deb Pope of Geff, IL and the grandson of Helen Tedrick and the late Elvin Tedrick of Mulberry Grove, IL and the late Leroy and Dorothy Pope of Fairfield, IL.

 Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless gossamer gown with a drop waist.  The bodice was highlighted with subtle ruching and floral appliqués.  The organza overlay on the skirt was adorned with floral appliqués and a chapel train.  The fingertip length two-tier veil featured a beaded scallop edge with beaded flowers and sequins.  Small shiny iridescent discs accented the veil.  The headband featured a floral motif with clusters of rhinestones.  She carried a bouquet of silk calla lilies and peacock feathers accented with iridescent pearl sprays brought together with an organza teal bow with a vintage broach that belonged to the bride’s great grandmother.  Attached to the bouquet were small charm picture frames with pictures of the bride and groom’s deceased grandparents.

 Maid of honor was Christe Jarvis, Vincennes, IN, college roommate.  She wore a short brown cotton sateen strapless dress gathered at the waist with ruching on the bodice.  Bridesmaids were Kayla Peters, Toledo, IL, sister of the groom; Dae Harvey, Fairfield, IL, sister-in-law of the bride; and Rachel Johnson, Belle Rive, IL friend of the bride. The bridesmaids wore short brown cotton sateen dresses pleated at the waist with Y-necklines and ruching above the waistlines.  The attendants carried a single silk calla lily accented with dried willow and white berries tied with organza teal ribbon streamers.  Flower girl was Karigan Nicole Harvey, niece of the bride.  She wore a floor length white satin spaghetti strap dress with pick-up skirt and brown sash.  She carried a brown vintage basket accented with a teal bow and calla lilies and dropped brown silk hearts and teal feathers.

 Best man was Jeremy Witter, Fairfield, IL.  Groomsmen were Jarrod Pope, Geff, IL, brother of the groom; Patrick Harvey, Fairfield, IL, brother of the bride; and Justin Curry, Fairfield, IL, friend of the groom.  Ring bearer was Keaton Charles Harvey, Fairfield, IL, nephew of the bride.  The groom wore a black tuxedo, white shirt and teal vest with teal tie.  The groomsmen wore black tuxedos, white shirts and brown vests with brown ties.  The ring bearer wore a black tuxedo, white shirt and teal cummerbund with teal bow tie and carried a brown satin ring pillow.

 Prior to the ceremony a picture slide show of the couple was shown from birth to the present time.  The alter was beautifully decorated with a teal satin background flanked by two large peace lilies.  The unity candle was on a table that belonged to the bride’s great great grandmother.  The bridal march was played by Kristin Musgrave, Wayne City, IL.
